Think of Reasons - Task

  1. Read one note and add the question, FOR WHAT REASON?
  2. If you cannot think of a REASON, just go on to read the next card.
  3. When you do think of a REASON, mark a large X after the FOR WHAT REASON question.
  4. After you mark a large X on a card, set that card aside to start a stack of cards with a large X after REASON.
  5. By stacking the X’s now, you will have them together when you are ready to examine your REASONS and choose only a few to write into your paper.
  6. In the next step you will examine your cards marked with an X.
  7. From them you will choose a few REASONS to write on your note cards.
  8. Your REASONS:  • must make sense    • must be true    • must not be silly.
